Our 3-Step Process
Every project starts with a brand discovery session.
We dig into what your company does, who you are speaking to, and what they need to hear before they will trust you. Often times, companies are too close to their own work to see what makes it interesting, so we ask the questions that surface it.
The strongest story is usually one that puts your customer as the hero of the story. Finding it is the point of this stage, because a well-shot video built on the wrong story still fails.
Once the story is clear, we build the plan around it. We write the script, storyboard the shots, and scout locations. We lock the schedule, the crew, the gear, and any casting or voiceover the project needs. You approve the script before anything is booked.
By the time we arrive on the shoot day, everyone knows what we are filming, in what order, and why each shot is there.
Shoot day is where the planning pays off.
Our crew films on cinema cameras with professional lighting and sound, working from a shot list that covers every setup the edit will need. That includes the coverage we need to tell the right story: cutaways, B-roll, alternate angles, and detail shots. Those are what let an editor cut around a stumbled line or hold a moment longer.
We direct throughout. If your team is on camera, we coach them through it, whether they do this often or it is their first time. Our job is to make it comfortable enough that they sound like themselves. We keep the day moving so it stays on schedule, and you see what we are getting as we go.
This is where the footage transforms into a finished visual masterpiece.
We start with the story, cutting the aesthetic shots and key moments into a structure that commands attention from the first few seconds. Once that spine is right, we build on it with music, sound design, and motion graphics.
Then we colour grade. Every shot gets a cinematic colour treatment, which is what separates footage that looks recorded from footage that looks made. We look for every chance to lift the aesthetic, matching shots across the edit so the whole video feels like one piece.
You review a first cut and give notes, we revise, and you approve the final before we deliver the files in whatever formats and sizes you need.
Frequently Asked Questions
Corporate video is a large part of what we do, and it covers more ground than most people expect. Brand videos that introduce the company. Recruitment and culture videos for hiring. Executive messages and internal communications. Event recaps. Customer stories and testimonials. Safety and onboarding video. Most corporate clients come to us with a business goal rather than a video idea, so we start with what the video needs to achieve and work backwards to the right format and length. Since 2013 we have produced corporate video for organizations across Vancouver and British Columbia, including nonprofits, health organizations, construction companies, professional services firms, and technology companies.
An effective promotional video focuses on the needs of your target audience, not on everything your company does. The first step is deciding who the video is speaking to and what that specific group actually cares about. Then we show your unique impact in a way that audience understands, using their language rather than your internal terminology. A feature list convinces nobody. A clear picture of what changes for them does. Everything else follows from that: length, tone, where we film, and how the video opens.
Testimonial and case study video production works best when the client does the talking and we stay out of the way. We interview your customer about the problem they had, what changed, and what the result was. No scripts, because rehearsed answers sound rehearsed. Our job is to ask the right questions and make the person comfortable enough to answer honestly. We then cut the strongest moments against footage of the work itself, so the viewer hears the claim and sees the proof at the same time. The most persuasive line is almost always one nobody planned.
Product video production lives or dies on how the product looks on screen. We light for aesthetics rather than visibility, using controlled lighting and cinematic camera moves to make the product feel considered and premium. Static, evenly lit footage reads as a catalogue photo and gets scrolled past. Motion, shallow depth of field, and deliberate camera work make it feel dynamic. Pacing carries the rest. We cut to upbeat music and keep the rhythm moving so the video holds attention through to the end. The goal is for someone to want the product before they have finished hearing what it does.
Yes. Training video production is one of the four main types of video we produce, covering onboarding, safety, software walkthroughs, and internal education. The challenge with training video is not filming it, it is keeping people watching. We break long material into short modules rather than one continuous video, because a twelve-minute module gets abandoned and four three-minute ones get finished. Screen recording, animation, and on-camera instruction each work for different content, and most training projects use a mix.
We film on location most of the time, and your office usually works. Our crew brings the lighting, sound, and backdrop needed to make an ordinary room look intentional on camera. We scout the space beforehand, either in person or from photos, and tell you which room to use and what to move. Real workspaces often make a stronger video than a studio, because the audience sees your actual environment. When a project calls for a controlled set, a seamless backdrop, or a look your space cannot provide, we book a studio and include that cost in the quote.
